One of my favorite things about living in Madrid is the fact that on my block alone, we've got two fruterias (fruit and veggie stands), two supermarkets (one directly across the street), and a pasteleria (bakery) next door. I feel very fortunate to have all of these places at my fingertips as I visit them frequently. Sharing the refrigerator with three people means I have one shelf for all my food (plus a cabinet for dry goods). That translates to at least five or so trips to the store a week. Good thing I like grocery shopping!
